Good evening everyone

Me and wifey are going to angelsey staying in a friends caravan for a few days at end of may.

The question we have is.... well we like searching for crabs - (sad i know) does anyone know where in angelsey can we go looking for crabs, just need place names - as we have never been to angelsey before.

Thanks

Dave

Can't help with crabs but we were in Barmouth just down the coast a couple of years back and saw 100's of these jellyfish, they were the size of dustbins.

My wife is the worlds best craber. Quite scary really.

Any rocky beach will do, just have a drive round, let us know how you do.

Hope you get crabs.

Beaumaris is worth a vist. It also has a small pier that was full of people crabbing when I was last there.

Also a little further along the coast Red Wharf Bay. When tide is out many places to search the rock pools.

Yeah, another vote for Beaumaris pier. There's a butchers nearby on the main street who sells netted bags of frozen offal which are great for tying to the end of crab lines. Have fun.

That looks like a barral jelly Rhizostoma Octopus or root mouth jelly. In 2002 loads were washing up on welsh beaches. I have seen the blue version of this on the gower coast. These do not sting but can cause skin irritation in some.

We caught tonnes last year in the pouring rain lol. We were on a road near Treaddur bay, on a little bridge. We bought lug worm from the bait shop and the kids put them in one of those net bags. Worked a treat!
