i need to uprate my kayak. my old gear is fibreglass, and now i need a more comportable touring play boat. it needs to be a poly one and able to do white water to grade 3. tried e bay but they tend to go really expensive or to far to pick up. i would think of new and second hand any thoughts out there regarding makes, models and good canoe shops.

Have you had a look at the Tees Barrage as there's a shop there and they definitely sell them.

Tiso in Newcastle, not sure if there's a one in boro, have a couple on display.

We were in Go Outdoors in Stockton on Saturday but I can't remember if they had any as we weren't looking for kayaks.

My son lives in Middlesbrough now and he has one he doesn't use any more but its currently in our garden and we live in North Tyneside. I could see if he wants to flog it?

Went to the barrage at Stockton, but was told due to the redevelopment of the course, not much is happening, but maybe I will try again.

GO outdoors sell canoe gear and recreation boats, but nothing series. If you can have a word with your son I will consider having a look. I don’t think there is a tiso near me, but I think it will be the same as go.

I am starting to look around when I am away from home and now I am adding a bit more urgency now that I am injured through running to keep my fitness going

I have a Dagger Juice (Playboat/RiverRunner) which i dont use any more.

As for the tees barrage they are upgrading it so that they can get people to come and train for the olympics in 2012.

Theres also a place called PowerHouse Marine in newcastle. Tiso dont have a good stock of kayaks. Just a few hanging above the stairs.

I live near newcastle but i go down to carslile canoes. Great shop for kayaking stuff.
