Hi all, just thought I'd bring this to your attention...(sorry if i've put it in the wrong forum)
You can get some wonderful FREE activities for primary school aged children that are ideal for campers and caravanners from Nature Detectives at the Woodland Trust.
The website is www.naturedetectives.org .uk and you can download over 1000 activities. My daughter absolutely loves this website and has actually talked her teacher into using it at school! The activities seem very well made and include ideas, spotter sheets, iDials, crafts, recipes, games and things like ideas for 'welly wanders' and picnics etc
I've already started downloading things to take with us camping in August!

Haha they don't mind how old you are. It's all part of the Woodland Trust's education dept. My daughter's a member of the club £12 a year (which is cheaper than any other nature cluib i've found) and every Friday you get a different weekly challenge that is only available to club members. The child also gets seasonal activities sent through the post and a massive A1 sized wall chart with corresponding stickers that they get to stick on when they've done a challenge. The poster itself is really good as they go around a woodland adventure fixing broken things etc. My daughter loves it!

Widget just read your post - I took my daughter (11) to the BBC Discover Nature weekend in May this year, what a great weekend, lots of activities for the kids, wine for the big kids and a really lovely bunch of people. Oh and please excuse the pun, it was in your neck of the woods as it was in Lincolnshire!

Liverbird08 I know the event that you mean! It was run by BBC Radio Lincolnshire near to the Lincolnshire showground. We couldn't go on that weekend but heard it was really good.
Magicman2 no probs, my two are a similar age to yours and they love it. (we made minibeast iDials yesterday - laminated them and took them out geocaching)
