Thanks for all the replies and good advice. I certainly wont take Skafell for granted, although after reading your replies, I am determined to walk up it.
Think I may join the local ramblers, just to get used to walking over open ground rather than tarmac and concrete. I will keep you posted.
Sorry Phil, I am a bit further south than Brecon, so don't know ant walks in the area, but I hope you really enjoy Wales
