Hi. We're heading down to newquay mid august with the bikes on board. I know of the camel trail but was wondering if anybody new of any other family freindly routes in the area. Little girls only 6 so really need off road routes.
I had thought initially of suggesting the Bissoe trail but for a 6 year old it's a bit hilly. The Mineral Tramways routes on the link are generally quite level being old tram routes. here
To be honest Newquay in mid-august isn't probably the right combination for cycling with little ones. Extremely busy and no cycle lanes in town. I would possibly leave them behind...
If you do decide to bring them, the flatest is Devron to Bissoe (nice ice-creams and cold drinks at Bissoe) http://www.gps-routes.co.uk/routes/home.nsf/RoutesLinks/532?OpenDocument And you would have to drive 12 miles to get there.
Or there is the Bodmin to Padstow (drive around 14 miles, but again nice ice-creams at Padstow), but the last bit before Padstow is across a bridge which can have side winds and be a bit of work to cross.
Good luck!
