Hi All

I have left it a bit late to look for a location to take my 12 yr old son for our annual camping trip together - it is planned for Wednesday 31 July to Sat 3rd August and usually has a 'theme' (we climbed Snowdon for charity last year, fishied and kayaked etc on Loch Ken, Dumfries & Galloway in 2011, and when he was younger fossil hunting in Dorset). He is quite an active and mature lad so need to steer clear of adventure playgrounds etc.

I would be very grateful for any ideas for location and available activities - I have exhausted my google skills and not succeeded!

Preferably not too far from home in North Staffordshire - 4hrs drive or so.
One other point - we are visiting Wales in early AND late August so other places would be preferred as he says he will be 'all Welshed out' if he does 3 breaks there!

many thanks

Kev

Yorkshire Three Peaks: Whernside, Ingleborough, Pen-y-ghent. The challenge is to do them within 12 hours; I'm aiming to do them all within 30 years. The challenge

Walking Hadrian's wall. (84 miles)

Lyke Wake Walk in N York Moors (44 miles)

Yorks 3 Peaks is a great idea! - he really enjoyed doing Snowdon and wanted to to Ben Nevis soon. I think I might save this one for another charity event when relatives and friends are likely to give again!

Hadrian's Wall we sort of did last year by car on way home from Alnwick.

He has mentioned this morning going back to Loch Ken Holiday Park and trying some watersports and so I am going to book that.

many thanks morepints
