Hi, we use the memory map app on our phone with OS maps for walking/cycling in UK, and ign maps for France is Hoping to go to the Moselle in Germany this year is there an equivalent map system for use in Germany.

Do you have a dedicated garmin GPS? If so you can buy maps from talkytoaster
If not the only one I can think of is openstreetmap.org or downloading google maps in terrain mode for your phone.
The Viewranger app will work on your phone for walking.
As for an OS, I think each Lander produces their own maps.
If you have any smartphone you can use here maps aka here we go maps it’s free and you can download maps for more or less the entire world storage permitting. Maps and the app are updated regularly and if you are connected to www you get free traffic and public transport routes
