I have a static caravan in Blackpool, been on the site for 20 years in a tourer and 6 years in a static. the land owner has sent out a terms and conditions this year stating that if I sell my static he wants 15% plus VAT, is this legal or is he trying it on? These terns were not shared with me when I brought on my static. The static was purchased off site by me, I paid £5k for siting and connection fee’s. The 15% is not a respite or disconnection but transfer of ownership. Any guidance will be greatly appreciated
15% plus VAT is quite standard for holiday statics IF the static is sold as sited.
It cannot be charged if you/the buyer is removing the static from the park - but different fees will apply in that case.
Much depends what your original contract says - if it was an annual one, the terms can be changed each year and it is up to you whether or not to accept. If it was for a longer term and is still in force, then terms cannot be changed mid-contract unless there was a clause specifying this.
There is a static owners group called the Holiday Park Action Group (HAPAG) who may be able to advise what, if any, options you have to challenge this as they will be familiar with this sort of situation, but it is unlikely that you will be able to do much about it, other than leave the site.
I have a static and want to re locate it on the Lincolnshire east coast so can anyone recommend a decent site with very reasonable site fees? Not really bothered about on site attractions

Welcome to UKCS.
You’d be better starting a new thread. Or focus on the other thread where you’ve posted a similar question. Your question has nothing to do with the subject of this thread.
I wonder if it would be possible/legal to sell the static to the new owner for £1 on paper, then come to some arrangement over the balance of the real price. If that is possible, you would then owe the site owner 15p as their share. I know, I'm devious, but these site owners are real rip-off merchants. I'd love to get one over on them.
