is anyone aware of any holiday or campsites in the uk that excepts bring on southwest region or wales preferably we are looking for a minimum of 46 weeks we currently are in france with our van and are hoping to get the van back to the uk please can you forward any sites that would except us the more sites the merrier thanks
Can't help I'm afraid but there is a specific section on here for static vans so you might do better to post on there. Also, do a search on all forums as I'm sure this topic has come up in the past. Search button is at the top of the page on the right.
If you click on "messages" at the top left of the screen, the first section is for caravanning and you will see a subsection that says "statics" (in red). Click on that and you will find lots of posts regarding siting your own static.
A lot of sites will not take statics as they want to sell you one of theirs but there seem to be some sites listed there that may be able to help.
where are you in France? which site? it might be cheaper/easier to sell in frnace and buy new (second hand) in the uk, or are you trapped by the site in france with regards to selling on site? ive heard some real horror stories about some large company sites that hold sellers to ransome! have you considered a swap for one in the uk? we are in challans on the vendee, and although I would never sell I do sometimes think about swapping for short periods and seeing more of france!!
hi dave ten miles from challans apremont twelve month site praires du lac need to get back to uk for family reasons need to find a site that will take the van looking for a ten or eleven month season any ideas had a offer on the van but not sure if the guy is genuine asking for 17;500 cash for us and the purchaser pays the commission rough total 20.000 bargain given the condition of the van if you have any feedback would be very grateful regards june
ouch, heard some real horror stories re praries du lac, apremont. we narrowly avoided buying there, so glad we did !! it might help if you had photos etc. one just sold on site here, year 2000 cosalt rimini, with deck etc for around 13k they advertised on daltons weekly. its the time of year to get people looking as theyre on holiday, post ads in supermarkets, viva street and le bon coin?
how old is your van? initial cost? from what I heard apremont buy back at stupid money and charge a fortune to have a van removed. plenty of companies in uk will ship it back, we used sambecks caravens in Colchester to buy ours and ship it out for us, they may be prepared to bring it back for you as a return load, might make it a bit cheaper?
hi dave the van is 2008 we paid 23000 the van has only been used for five months before we bought it its in great nick we know what you mean about this site to many politics feel like im back in school some days they charge alot for nothing we would consider moving to another site in france but i need to be close to bristol for my son so thats another dream closed will contact sambecks regarding moving van but still need to find somewhere to put it thanks
