Hi I was wondering if is possible to walk/crawl on my caravan pitch roof made of metal to repair a leak on the cooker extractor fan cowl.I am a plumber so no how to repair it but not sure if it will take my weight. Anyone out there done this. Thanks.
Welcome to UKCS. I don’t have a static but if you use the Search facility in this forum, the topic of ‘static roof’ has come up before.
A quick Google suggests crawler boards to spread the load of your body weight at the very minimum - hopefully someone with experience can confirm or correct.
Check Google and the previous UKCS advice - if it was my Motorhome roof (not static) I’d be staying on a secure ladder at the side. Give it a few days & hopefully someone else will come in.
i know its a late reply, yes it is BUT keep your weight on the parts of the roof where you can see the fixings as they are screwed into roof supports. always a good idea to spread your weight by using crawling boards
