Can anyone give me any pointers
Thankyou

Do NOT, repeat NOT, buy or commit to buying a static until you have a pitch to put it on.
Parks that allow you bring on a static from another park are very rare.
Parks that allow you to bring on a static that you have purchased independently are so rare as to be non-existant.
The most important thing is to find a park with available pitches that you like, then think about the static - if you have your heart set on a particular make/model/type there is a good chance that the Park will be able to offer something very similar.
If you are completely new to the static caravan world, then carry out a lot of research, consider what type of park you want, and make sure that you receive, read and fully understand the contract before you commit to anything.
ADDED:
If the static you have seen is from a dealer, the dealers often know which parks may have availability; they tell you the park, you go and talk to the park, then the park orders and sites the static for you.
The OP did not give any indication of intending to live in it all year, but if residential use is the intention, essential checks are a lot more than just whether the site is open for 12 months.
I must agree with what others have said. Always find the site first, never ever buy a static before you have somewhere to put it. Without a site to put it on a static is virtually worthless, and most sites won't touch a static that they haven't sold to you.
