Haven't been tae Scotland for many a year now, and even then it was always somewhere up the West coast, Ayr / Oban / Fort William. Thinking of taking advantage of circumstances next year and heading farther East, somewhat because of Capt Lightnings many such posts .
Aiming for a couple of weeks in Scone C&CC site in Perth (for Stirling / Pitlochry / St Andrews / Dundee / etc) followed by a week in Braemar Caravan Park (for walking / nature / Balmoral / etc). Will be coming up from the ferry at Cairnryan and likely stopping a few nights on the way home at Culzean C&CC site.
I am a little concerned however at towing from Perth to Braemar on the Old Military Road / A93 over Cairnwell Pass / Glenshee. I have a small Elddis Xplore 304 and a 1.5 diesel Ford C-Max. Any observations from those that have towed along here / know the road ?
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
It is no more difficult than the A82 at the northern end of Loch Lomond or the roads around Oban and may well be quieter in July than those routes will be.
Not much distance between Scone & Braemar sites. You might want to head down Royal Deeside a bit more, give yourself access to all the Cullen Portsoy Banff places on the coast as well as the fine city of Aberdeen.
