I am looking at the New Forest in Sept for 9 nights, looking for some campsite recommendations, (last trip to Wye valley, I got some great recommendations on here), so I am now asking again!
I have a Hiace campervan, like biking and seeing some old buildings etc.
Preferably, like to be central-ish in the new forest, so can explore most compass directions on my bike.
Thanks
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
We've booked Black Knowl CAMC site in Brockenhurst for 3 nights in September. Not cheap at over £140 for 3 nights but we know it's lovely and just right for us and what we want to do.
We did look at Long Meadow close by but they were already fully booked for our dates.
I think the New Forest is very popular even in September.
Good luck!

I know, right???
However, we know and love the site so it is what it is!!
If I'm daft enough to pay it I can't complain.

Each to their own I say, but if the only site I could get was charging that much I'd either go to a different area or stay at home. No way would I even consider that sort of price just to rent a small patch of grass. That is hotel money in my book.
Woolsbridge Manor Farm site was only about half that if I remember right, and it's a lovely site.

We have stayed at several sites in the New Forest, at the other end of the price scale. We only need ehu.
We need EHU for our fridge, which is mains-only, and for our water heater which is also mains-only. We prefer to have toilets and showers as it saves a lot of lifting and carrying, which neither of us is good with these days, but we could manage without if we had to, or if it was only for a day or two. The site we stayed at had both EHU and toilets/showers which were very good. Reasonable prices too which is why I recommended them.

It's only money, can't take it with me, easy come - easy go!! LOL

We are staying at Black Knowl in September as well. It is the most expensive site we are staying on this year but we grudgingly pay it because we love the location, right in the middle of the forest and have stayed there before and really enjoyed it. I did look for other less expensive sites but couldn’t find anything that looked as good and was in as good a location which had a toilet. There are a few ‘Camping in the Forest’ sites that are in lovely locations, for example Aldridge Hill, but they have no EHU or toilets so you have to be completely self sufficient. Some ‘Camping in the Forest’ sites do have EHU and toilets but they are just as expensive as the CMC sites so we stick to Black Knowl.

100% agree. You get what you pay for.
