Good morning everyone. My house is going on the market in 2 weeks time, and we expect it to sell relatively quick. We haven't found anything we would like to buy yet, so the plan is to tour Devon and Cornwall for a while and see if something pops up to buy.
If that fails we have a plan B to try the Forest of Dean.
Does anyone know of any value for money sites? (some of them work out to the same as my mortgage per month!) I was hoping to save a little bit! lol
I just need good clean showers/loos, Hot water to wash up and maybe a laundry, but that's not urgent, and wifi for house hunting,Electric hook up and tv reception, oh and owners that just leave you in peace :)
All areas considered except Plymouth (sorry, just not keen:))
Many thanks in advance
PS, Is it worth joining the CAMC?

Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
If you go onto the Site Search here, and click on “only” club sites, you’ll see all the CLs (CAMC) and CSs (CCC). Then click on the other things you want, because these smaller sites don’t necessarily have them all. Clubs’ own sites aren’t cheaper than good independent sites, in my experience - plenty of threads about joining either or neither Club already.
I know of someone who had a pitch at Fursdon Farm near Liskeard for about 3 months this year when his house purchase did not go smoothly. The going rate there in the summer with electrics and all facilities is £21=for grass pitch and £23 for hard standing but I expect he negotiated that down as a long stay.
If you go for plan B, then Hawthorne Cottage near Coleford in the Forest of Dean is lovely.£18 per night, but only 10 pitches. You can read my review from years ago.

Thank you everyone sooo much. Sorry I haven't replied sooner, not been too well. There are a few good suggestions there, so I will def do my research. I was hoping for no more than about £21- £22 a night, but I might be being optimistic lol. Thanks again everyone

Not to be overlooked if you are planing on living in your van for a little while, touring sites will have a max continuous stay of 21 or 28 days, whereby you need to move off site for at least 1 day before you can return.
That's a condition imposed by local authorities who licence the use of the sites, it's designed to stop residential occupation.
Think it's pretty well know that some sites do overlook that rule, so you may not have to comply if you ask nicely, and it may involve some 'creative' booking paperwork.

Lol Monty15, Yes I am aware of maximum stays.I will be asking very nicely if the need arises ;)
No offence intended, but I've met a surprising number of seasoned vaners who because they've only ever done conventional 1-2 week holidays had no idea there were limits!
