Hello, Does anyone know where I can stay in a VW camper after I arrive by ferry at Poole Harbour at 21.00hrs? The sites I have tried say they are closed at that time. Thank you.
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
Welcome to UKCS.
I’m pretty sure this question has cropped up before: try searching for a recent thread.
If all else fails, there are several free apps that show where you can park up overnight, for free or a small fee, no facilities.
Finding sites that accept late arrives from ferry terminals is never straightforwards it seems, a case of trolling through individual site details looking for one that accepts arrivals after the normal arrival cut off, which at best seems to be 8pm. ... but there are a few, sadly can't name them for you.
May be of interest, you can park up overnight at the port in the arrivals lanes for a fee of £15. Some conflicting info around on what facilities (toilets etc.) that may or may not be open! If self contained with loo onboard, then not a problem. Parked vehicles should not be left unattended, so no nipping off outside the port for food/drink etc., so again bringing it with you sorts that. https://www.brittany-ferries.co.uk/ferry-routes/planning/ports/poole https://www.phc.co.uk/commercial/ferries/passengers/

Thank you Fiona but I cant find recent threads, sorry a new member, and the names of the apps would be a real help if you have them?
I use the free version of an app called park 4 night (all one word). I have it for emergencies, like when we had to stop somewhere asap because a storm made driving dangerous. Other apps must be available, it can’t be the only one.
But I’m sure you’ll find an appropriate site or location, based on the suggestions so far.
