The entire journey between Steventon and Blue Anchor Bay Somerset is near enough 140 miles other than when my navigator gets us lost. I'm now 85 years of age and tire more easily than I used to so I would like to split the journey. I intitially thought that Bristol would be as good a point as any to split my journey but I could see no sites anywhere near Bristol on the CCC map so does anyone have any suggestions other than stopping on a Motorway Service Station which I know charge but thats not a problem. By the way I looked up Bristol on Siteseeker and saw "W6" next to the name which told me nothing. Could anyone here do so?

Looks like there aren't any. I've lived around there for years but don't know of many.

Seems to be some north in Gloucestershire in Cotswolds then some in Somerset. In between we have Bristol and South Gloucestershire which is a Unitary Authority in it's own right. South Glos has a few travellers sites.

. Baltic Wharf site in Bristol

Tanhouse Farm CL site down some narrow lanes near Chipping Sodbury.

My brother stayed at Chipping Sodbury Golf Club in his MH. Not sure of the arrangement.

The CMC site at Baltic Wharf has just had its lease extended by 4 months, right in the centre of Bristol.

Use the site map Search on here

Eg 18 sites within 10 miles of Bristol, obviously you can change the location and add filters to match your requirements

Many thanks for all of the useful messages you all sent one of which takes me two and a half miles from the M5 to a site.

The M4r approaches Bristol heading West. It turns up to North West towards the two Severn bridges.

Before reaching the bridges it crosses the M5 at the Almondsbury Interchange, a 4 level cross cum junction between the M4 & M5. You can exit from there at J16 on M5 for Thornbury. That is the A38 which runs North South.

Cypress Farm, Wick St Lawrence is a short distance from Jct 21 of the M5.
We haven't been there for many years but it was a lovely site, they have a website.
