South Ayrshire (west Scotland) has expanded its Motorhome overnight parking provision in 2022.
The Pilot areas at Girvan (harbourside) & Ayr (by the beach) are now permanent, Girvan now has toilets; other pilot overnight areas have been added in Ballantrae, Prestwick & Troon, all near the sea. Cost now £10pn, pay online. No water or waste disposal, number of nights is limited. On street overnight parking elsewhere is likely to incur a penalty, ditto non payment.
As well is two words!

Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
One of my old stomping grounds from years past. It's a few years since I've been down that way, but I thought that Ayr, Girvan, Maybole and such places were past their best. Still, it's good to see that some provision is being made for campervan parking.

Maybole has a brand new bypass!
But yes, towns are past their best but the harbours & beaches are still the same. The ‘Aires’ might work for people who avoid the local CCC & CAMC sites.
Well at least Maybole didn't have to wait too long for a bypass - unlike Aberdeen. From my early days driving down to the Lake district, so many of the small towns (and Dumfries) have been bypassed.
Back in Hampshire, Horndean, where I lived, was on the main A3 from London to Portsmouth and off to Hayling Island. You can imagine what traffic used to be like before it was bypassed by the A3(M). There used to be a policeman on points duty on Sundays because of the traffic heading for the coast.

Maybole has been waiting for a bypass since before there was a Scottish parliament, the narrow main street was blighted & blocked by the HGV traffic heading to & from the Irish ferries. The Aberdeen bypass was a very much bigger project, I knew colleagues involved in the planning process years ago; a new link was recently opened to bypass a busy roundabout.
I lived for a while in Topsham, outside Exeter. The Countess Weir roundabout was a horrendous bottleneck in summer then, it’s now bypassed I think.
