I'm looking to go away for a couple of nights in July for my wife's birthday. We'll be in our own touring caravan with our two kids 3 and 1.
I'm looking for recommendations for any campsites with touring pitches right next to the beach, not a 5 mins walk, but right next to it. We stayed at West Beach caravan park near Elgin once before and we could literally step out of the caravan and onto a pebble beach. I've tried them already but they are unfortunately fully booked.
Any ideas within 3-4 hours max of Aberdeen?

Or the independent site at Fortrose on the other side of the peninsula: you get sunsets & less formality. Ullapool is right on the beach & ferries / fishing boats add to the interest. Gairloch area has sites by the beach. Dornoch is just a dune walk from the beach. Fort William / Oban area too.

Thanks for the suggestions folks! Did Ullapool and Gairloch a couple of years back and they are beautiful indeed but the midges nearly ruined the trip. Will look at all of your suggestions and get something booked ASAP!
