Im wanting to have a 3 day event camping on my own land a few acres, with caravans and tents not a huge amount about 20 pitches can i just do this or do i need to do anything?
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
Its a caming weekend for classic motorcycles there is no music, as i said only small mainly just a group of friends . I dont want a prerminant site or a 28 day pop up site just 3 nights.

Are you taking payment for admission & camping ? Are you advertising this as an event anybody can attend paying for admission ? If none of this is the case & you are just effectively having a private party then no permission required I would have thought ?

You will need permission from local council, insurance cover and be able to supply water and also an Elsan point. What will you be doing with all the rubbish accumulated over the weekend as there may be additional costs for its disposal?
I think you will find it's all a little grey (or maybe that's complex) in terms of legalities, as so many aspects of law come into play, for one thing, camping in tents is treated differently/separately to pitching caravans! When it comes to permission/licence to create a temp camp site (which a sufficiently large gathering may require) that is generally down to your local council and their own particular take on the situation. You may describe it as 'wild camping' with landowners permission, but one aspect you will be questioned about is 'waste' (in ALL it's forms!) disposal, and water supply for health and hygiene purposes!
You may be able to avoid a load of bureaucracy if you limit numbers, take a look at the overview on these two:
It's certainly possible, friends have done it, albeit on a smaller scale. When friend did it, he hired a portaloo to cover 'that side' of waste handling and for the convenience of tent campers without caravan facilities.
I think your biggest risk is possibly the number of caravans, public opinion and the law are wary of caravans pitching up as often this means 'Traveller community' and that get's everybody's alarm bells ringing, and alerts being raised with authorities!
I guess to some extent, it all depends on neighbours and how obvious the site is to the general public, as to whether anyone notices enough to question what's going on!

Check your household/business insurance covers you, and you may need Third Party as well (not expensive) in case there’s an accident & someone claims you caused it by doing (or not doing) something. Do a risk assessment: what happens if a caravan or car gets bogged down, what first aid kit do you realistically need, fire precautions, etc.
I think a realistic think about whether 20 motorbikes camping will upset anybody. If anyone around is likely to be upset, maybe have a chat with them to gauge their opinions.
