I've just had a email from the cc to say that due to Electricity increasing by up to 50% this year, They are going to increase the price by roughly 70p- £2.50 per night
Now it doesn't say what months its going to be changed to, So if electric has gone up all round just do a flat rate increase across the year, or do they plan to increase the summer up to £2.50 ? these are the months we all use less.
only a matter of time before they all do the same

Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
We look forward to welcoming you shortly on our UK Club campsites.
Ahead of your arrival, we wanted to give you advance notice that we’ll be making a small increase to our UK Club campsite prices for stays between 5 April 2022 and 3 January 2023 inclusive.
The unfortunate and sad events which have engulfed the world in recent weeks have meant worldwide electricity costs have increased exponentially. In fact the Club's electricity costs are forecast to increase by an unprecedented amount of around 50% this year.
The fairest way for the Club to manage the rising cost of energy required to run our UK Club campsites is for all members to pay a little bit extra when staying with us this year. This small price increase will support the Club in the face of the rising cost of energy and also help ensure that we can continue to reinvest in improving the UK Club campsite network.
What this means for you
The increase will be between 70p and £2.50 per night depending on the season and the campsite you are planning to stay on. These calculations are based on a standard touring pitch and two adults.
From 5 April 2022 you’ll be able to see the exact new price you’ll pay by logging into ‘My profile’ and clicking on the ‘My UK Sites Bookings’ section.
There’s no need for you to do anything, on arrival at the campsite you will be charged the appropriate amount.
We appreciate this price increase will not be welcomed, however we would like to share that members have saved over £12.5 million on stays at our UK Club campsite network since July 2020, as the Club passed on the full Government VAT rate saving to members.
We need your support to ensure our wonderful Club can continue to operate all of our amazing campsites at the same high standards during the busy summer season and into the winter, when we expect utility costs to rise further.
Just a pity more sites don't have metered electricity, as we would always opt for that if we had a choice. An increase of £2.50 a night on top of what are already exorbitant prices is crazy! The last time we went on a site with metered electricity was in 2019 and we paid £2.80 for a whole two weeks electricity. Admittedly it was only for our battery charger and fridge, but when you compare that to what most of us have to pay per night on most sites, it certainly makes you think.
The thing that really gets my back up with this is, if it’s gone up then Fine but do it right across the year we all use more electric in spring and autumn and hardly any in the summer, but I suspect as always they will do the £2.50 at school holiday times.
Penalising families is plain wrong they ain’t cash cows

Not just club sites, we use CLs mostly, one went up by £2 per night between Christmas and New Year, another we went to in November said they would soon have to increase. This was before the recent horrible events. It's bound to happen unfortunately.

With the use of aircon increasing in caravans and motorhomes, it is not just the winter where people are using more electricity now. I agree with Colin that I would prefer metered electric so that those who use lots pay for it while those who don’t use much aren’t paying for something they don’t use.

It's not just the energy used via your EHU. A site uses energy in all it's buildings
Whilst that is perfectly true, it shouldn't be included in the cost of EHU. It is overheads and everyone who uses the site should be paying for them through their site fees, including those who don't want EHU.

True that’s correct so in my eyes they just put the electric up for every pitch regardless of season or location, let’s face it electrics no more expensive in Cornwall than it is in Manchester and it’s not dearer in July august than September.
We can only wait and see what the cost are going to be
There's another thread about this elsewhere. As I said there, it's not just about the electricity used by campers. The increase in costs affects all aspect of running a site.

Unit prices do vary depending on where you live.

Most energy plans have different rates for different areas. For example, a plan's electricity unit cost in Canterbury could be 14.06p, rising to 14.39p in London, 15.25p in Cardiff, and 16.55p in Belfast.

so... along with this current affairs and the relevant charge imposed for on-site users, next years club member fee will incur the rise of fuel prices, and as mentioned there is still the Autumn price rise to come !!will there now be a possible reversal of the last two years of"can't but a van anywhere" to a glut of people now unable to afford to take a van away and having to sell off their pride and joy?

Well the rise in fuel and energy prices is already starting to make us think seriously. We are only on state pension and the tiny increase in that this year has already been swallowed up many times over just by the proposed energy price rises, without everything else going up. We will certainly not be going as far this year, and will be looking for sites close to public transport so that we can utilise that as much as possible while away. If the diesel price goes much higher we may even have to consider whether we can afford to go at all or maybe just have one week away instead of our usual three.
