I'll have a go as much as I could without checking their website or my bank account or previous booking, etc. etc...
A) Over 40 GBP for a single person
B) 25%
C) 30 days
D) Don't know as I have never booked a single night at their club sites
E) Can't remember if hardstanding pitches are priced differently to grass with EHU pitches; and I don't know about awning as I don't have one. I only know jumbo pitch with EHU is more expensive than standard grass pitch with EHU. This is the only price comparison I had done when I was camping under canvas.
F) Over 7.00 GBP some years ago.
G) Yes to book online, no to making changes online - one has to ring a centralised booking number to make ammendments.
That's all I can remember. For the most up to date T&Cs please check their website.

It’s a long list of questions! - by the time you’d typed it, you could probably have looked it up.
D) yes, the “no single night” rule is applied at popular sites. Not sure if it’s applied at less busy sites too.
E) yes for both. Not much cost for an awning & many don’t offer grass for MHs any more in case you sink in. A site I go to occasionally says it’s full when there are no hard stands left & the managers won’t let vehicles onto any of the many vacant grass pitches.
C&CC you have to pay in full before you turn up. CAMC you pay when you arrive( “no shows” may take advantage of that.
and all of that only applies if you book a club site, if you book onto one of their thousands of 5 van sites you have much more freedom to book for your one night stays and they are generally far far cheaper to use and you only pay for the site once you arrive generally

Unless it has changed very recently due to Covid, you do not have to pay in full before you turn up at a C&CC site. You pay a deposit on booking, then the balance when you get there, at least that is what I have always done. I haven't been to one of their main sites for the last two years though, only to a CS and there I paid the full amount on arrival. I offered a deposit when I booked in August this year for a week at the beginning of September but they wouldn't take it.

Yes to taking a 25% deposit then the rest via the payment method provided at time of booking before arrival.
And yes to the name being Camping and Caravanning Club, however that is such a frequent mistake nowadays I don't mention the error when I see it anymore.

Has the method of payment been changed recently, possibly due to Covid restrictions? I haven't been to a C&CC site since well before Covid, and I have always paid a deposit on booking and the balance when I turned up at the site. Never done it any other way.

I don't know when it was changed, however in 2018 when I last stayed on a club site, it was as you described, 25% upfront, the rest on arrival in person. Or pay in full at time of booking.

I think the answer to some of your questions depends on quite a few things, including which site you are looking at.
The cost varies on the dates, whether or not you have electric, your unit, the number of people staying and if you qualify for age concession (25% discount for members over 60s) so it's difficult to get a price until you get a quote for your exact needs.
They only take bookings for one night at certain times of the year e.g. in September we could only book for a minimum of 2 nights at weekends but in October one night bookings were accepted.
We are members of The C&CC but only use their sites occasionally. Just recently due to Covid, we've used their Oxford site but we use it quite regularly so as an example for our last bookings, all for for 2 adults with the Age Concession applied the costs were :
2 May 2021 - 1 night with EHU -£19.80
27 May2021 - 1 night with EHU - £26.80
14 August 2021 - 2 nights (minimum bookable) with EHU - £58.00
9 Oct 2021 - 1 night without EHU (late booking, no EHU available) - £22.63
and if we went next weekend (30 Oct), no EHU as none available) - £16.42.
We've never had to pay extra for a hard standing or an awning though they do ask if you need one to give you the right size of pitch and we always pay in full so I don't know about deposits.

C&CC charges more for school holidays and Bank Holidays from Easter onwards until early September, supply and demand and all that.
Same with other holiday providers.
Easter and late October half term holidays are slightly less as only the hardier folks will go camping especially tenters.

Absolutely. The Club publicise their charging periods (C&CC Season Dates 2021 but this does not necessarily mean that the price will be cheaper in say high season than in the mid season as they also use dynamic pricing so the only way to be sure what a pitch will cost for any booking is to fill in the booking form for a quote and even then that price shown will only be valid if the booking is made immediately.
My point therefore was that it’s impossible to know what price and therefore discount you will get as a member. Gone are the days when you could check out the high, low and mid season prices to compare one site with another and be sure that’s what you would end up paying therefore making it more difficult to decide if the cost of membership is worth it.
In our case we tend not to use C&CC sites normally but remain members as we use the Oxford site several times a year and have checked that our membership is worth it. If we used it less it wouldn’t be.

Yes; to an extent. The £25 or 25% deposit is the same. Balance is taken automatically on the card you paid the deposit with, on the day of your arrival, but BEFORE you arrive, not WHEN you arrive. As you say, due to Covid. Works well.
We are just back from C&CC site at Walton on Thames. Using senior discount, we had hard standing pitch with electrics for approx £14.60 per night.
We felt that was good value. No facilities there, of course, but we always prefer to use our own shower and toilet anyway, especially in the current climate.

That's unusual isn't it, a C&CC site with no facilities? I didn't know they had any sites like that, all the ones we've been to have had excellent facilities. Even the CSs we've been to have had facilities of some sort.
