Hi
Can anyone recommend a site in North Wales roughly in the National Park area that has a Campers Kitchen area - and an area to then sit down
Ive look at 'many sites' and most do not appear to have a Kitchen
Ive seen a few that do - but then have no 'seating' area in the Kitchen
Reason for asking is:
I like to take my mid size tent (rather than the 'big tent')
On those days when is raining non stop; I typically like to head to a 'campers kitchen' and do some "work" on my laptop (typically catching up on 'paper work / personal admin' and have access to a kettle, wifi etc
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
Some YHAs have camping spaces with access to hostel facilities. Idwal Cottage in the Ogwen Valley has tent spaces, it might be worth giving them a call to check what size tents they can accommodate.

Thanks. I hadn’t thought about YHA.
I had a quick check (and possibly why this one got filtered out), there’s no 4G/5G phone connection (with Vodafone) or site WiFi
But pictures of the kitchen facilities look wonderful
I’ll continue the hunt for something that allows me to get online and also has kitchen facilities
You’ll have tried the site search, so you know you can tick for wanting the kitchen. Although we don’t use one now, we do take note when one is available for writing the review & there’s no spec for the independent sites that provide one - I haven’t yet been to a CCC or CAMC club site with a campers kitchen.
Whether or not they have a seating area won’t come up (as you’ve found) any more than whether the showers have a stool that you can perch on to dry your feet, or the pitch has a picnic table.
Just pack a folding chair…? Looking for a site with a table & chairs in a kitchen will greatly limit your options.
Otherwise, the sites I know that fit your brief are far outside N Wales.
Hi Fiona
Thanks for replying.
I know the sites in the Lake District that have the “campers kitchens” (lots of web searching, phoning etc) which are ideal for tent users
Seems to be “more common” in the Lakes and Scottish highlands
I’ll keep doing the same for Snowdonia/Eryri, which is a new area for me
The virtual brochure and notes facility on the site make it easy to compile a list
I would try using UKCS's Site Search facility, and apply filters for 'Tents' and 'Internet' in the area of interest.
Bear in mind that 'Internet' means site wi-fi which might not be free, and might not reach all areas of the campsite.
Once you have found potentially suitable sites, if being able to connect to the internet is crucial, I would strongly advise for the OP to check mobile phone signal coverage using https://www.signalchecker.co.uk/.
CAMC has wi-fi 'Heat Map' which I found very useful.
As Fiona had mentioned, I too have not come across C&CC or CAMC club sites with campers kitchen. However, they often have an 'Information' room with a table and a couple of chairs.
For me personally, I got fed up of playing the mobile phone signal coverage roulette (I used to have EE on my phone and Smarty [Three] in my van) and have recently taken out a data contract with the remaining 2 major providers (Vodafone and giffgaff [O2]); as being continuously contactable is very important for my day job.
I still check using Signal Checker as there are still pockets of mobile phone signal blackholes where there is no signal of any kind!
Good luck with your search.

CCC have a 'backpackers facility' option in their search
That typically points to a kitchen and 'sometimes' seated area
That helped me find Millarochy Bay near Loch Lomond
(Which makes sense - as that site is right on the West Highland Way.
I'll keep hunting and report back
I have seen a few 'bunk house' locations in North Wales have kitchen facilities - but typically they're only for the paying bunkhouse users and separate tents camped at the (same) site are unable to use them
I'll keep hunting

Ooer, I did not know C&CC has that option to search by facilities as I would normally use the Site Search function in UKCS first!
I just tried it and found Inverewe Gardens in Poolewe being listed as having 'Backpacker' facility, and I stayed there only last month as part of my Scottish tour, and the so-called facility was a hut with a bench and seats, and not a kitchen where one could cook!
When I stayed at Glencoe C&CC in 2012, they too had a backpacker's hut with a bench and seats, and drying racks for clothes, that's all, no kitchen to speak of.
