hello , are there any campsites anywhere at all that dont accept dofe groups? while i see the benefits of them i am fed up with the mess made in the toilet blocks and generally poor supervison.i favor basic sites near public transport.
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
There are plenty, but from experience this summer the 20 or so DOE participants were far better behaved than the group of 30ish something 'lads' who turned up and decided it was an ideal place to make as much noise as possible.
Threats of being thrown off and police being called calmed them down, but that was at about 1am.
Look for Adult Only campsites near the destinations of interest.
Look at their T&Cs to check if they allow large groups/rallies.
If they allow large groups/rallies, check if they have dedicated areas for such groups.
Look for evidence of on-site wardens to address any issues by reading up on reviews/feedbacks.
If in doubt, contact the managements and ask.
I avoid camping during school holidays from the late May bank holiday weekend until the end of the summer school holidays.
If I decide to go camping during school holidays, I would choose Adult-only sites whenever possible.
I have not had issues with DoE groups.
However, I was ashamed to be part of a car rally that had some of the rowdy drunken participants breaking up and setting wooden pallets on fire in the small hours of the morning. I had not participated in another rally with them after that! The onsite warden was nowhere to be seen.
On a previous stay at that campsite the year before, some kids were pulling toilet papers out, wetting them before throwing at each other etc., again, no warden to address the issue, and their parents/guardians were nowhere to be seen, most likely to be in their statics having a good time while their children ran amok!

Welcome to UKCS.
I also have never had issues with DoE groups; the toilet blocking episodes have both been on the same site with a lot of statics & feral children running about in the dark while their parents sit outside drinking & arguing. (Not been back there because reviews since have mentioned the vandalism.)
But to the point raised: as suggested, use the site search on UKCS - start where you’d like to go, tick what you want (eg adults only, dogs allowed or not, toilets, whatever). And you can tick for a bus stop within a certain distance - we also travel by bus once we’re set up. That will pull up a map & list. Finally, focus on sites with a score of 9 or 10 out of 10, and scan the most recent reviews. A site with poor management can improve hugely when that person moves on. And one thing is near in mind - managers that can stop noise happening at night can sometimes (just sometimes) be somewhat officious about other more trivial things, like your MH being 6 inches too far left of the peg.
There are plenty of great sites out there. If you say what area you’re interested in, or x hours from a major town, we might be able to suggest places.
