Hi,
We're a couple in our early 60's and have just purchased a touring caravan for our retirement. My wife loves a game of bingo, so could anyone recommend any caravan sites that have a clubhouse with bingo and entertainment. We live in mid Wales. Thanks
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
I can’t specify anywhere specific because any clubhouses that I know of didn’t have bingo on, say, every Saturday. They might have karaoke one night a month, bingo one night, a folk game or singer, even (at one site recently) a “murder mystery” night.
You can use the site search for sites with a pub, but that’s no guarantee of entertainment. I’m happy to say I’ll be proved wrong by all the suggestions that will follow.
Absolutely not my type of campsite and avoid them like the plague, but TBH I've not come across too many campsites with clubhouses that I'd try to avoid, that of course may just be the locations I choose! The big club sites AFAIK don't have clubhouses, or extremely rare if they do.
Thinking maybe Haven or Parkdean type sites may be your best bet for clubhouses and entertainment, no idea about Bingo though! Maybe pick a location with a Bingo Hall in a nearby town. Haven and Parkdean type sites tend to be aimed at young families with kids, so may not be your thing from that aspect.
Sites near pubs may offer some entertainment opportunities but pubs often only have one or two nights with entertainment.
The UKCS search feature can be 'filtered' to include/exclude certain things, I've done a basic search here for Central Wales with Bars on site/pubs nearby which is as close as the filter get to your requirements: https://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/results.asp?county=Powys&caravans=on&pub=on&bar......... Tweak the filters to expand the region or change other must have/don't want features as you see fit.
I'm far from the best person to advise, as I seek out quiet and natural sites with the least human influence as possible, just the basics for me!
An awful lot of us on here seem to seek peace and quiet, and are prepared to entertain ourselves with 'old fashioned' things like reading, cards, games, conversation etc., not even bothering with TV or internet access! But certain to be some with a foot firmly in modern 'civilisation' and they may be more helpful.
For sure, don't think you are going to find too many ready made search facilities for your needs, and it's going to be your own homework that finds them, or recommendations from others that have knowledge of specific sites.
Look at Trevornick in Cornwall. They have a clubhouse/bar with games of bingo every nite. (Cash prizes from what the wife tells me)
Normally some half decent entertainment on.
In order to support a club house with entertainments, one would be looking at a large family holiday camp type of sites with lots of static caravans, seasonal pitches, activities for children such as swimming pool and water slides etc. etc...
Parkdean springs to mind.
Good luck with your search.
And yes, I too avoid such sites, been there, done that, not my cup of tea.
