As alerady mentioned, dont camp next to the water, especially rivers regardless of how lovely it is and try and stay away from trees. Apart from that if the wee blighters go for you you wont notice with a bottle of red down you!

Scotland is absolutley stunning Invercoe site at Glencoe is brilliant, lovely views & sunsets, then the highlands Newtonmore & Kinnuesi, my other favorites are Balloch (Lomond woods caravan park) & Luss Loch Lomond.
