We went here last week in a tourer on the premier pitch site,( basically you get a bit of gravel, the toilet block was clean and the showers hot.
The meadows fieldis a good walk away from the facilities and was a mud bath when we went to look. Also they have portacabin showers and toilets here.
You are told on booking in that you must keep your membership card with you at all times as it will be checked! The pool is nice and the shop well stocked but expensive.
Not the most friendly site we have been to, and doubt if will return as it is very expensive for what you get.

how far is it to te shops etc, was thinking it looks nice as they have a pool for the kids. is it nice?
The nearest supermarkets are Sainsbury's - further up the A31 towards Poole; there's an ASDA along the Wessex Way (A338) as you approach Bournemouth and a lovely Waitrose in Ringwood. There's also Sainsbury, ASDA, M&S all at Castlepoint which is just off the Wessex Way (A338) - take the RBH exit but turn right off the island on to Castle Lane West. If you go towards the hospital, on Castle Lane East, there's a huge Tesco .
Bournemouth and Poole beaches are lovely - although Boscombe has apparently acquired a lot of gravel on the beach this winter, remember parking charges are horrendous though - its about £10 a day on the front between Boscombe and Bournemouth. Another really nice beach to go on is at Christchurch Avon Beach. The parking is cheaper and nearer to the beach, and there's a good beach cafe/restaurant adjacent. They dont sell booze (or they didn't when I last went) so there's never any trouble there (unlike some of the Bournemouth beaches).
If you've not been to this area before, dont make the same mistakes we did!! We used to follow the brown tourist signs, which can actually make the round trip from Bournemouth to Poole (5 miles apart!!) something like 40 miles altogether. Get one of the local street map books (£2.50), and follow those instead!
We went to Oakdene a few years ago and stayed in one of their caravans. it was in June and the weather as great. We found the facilities great and the indoor pool with flumes was brill for the kids. The outdoor pool is nice too. Cant comment on the tent site as we didnt go near it but everything was well run and the shop was the usual, with prices average . cant compare it with others as it is the only one we have stayed in so far but now we have a new tent It wont be long!!

Don't forget the crabbing!!
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
The crabbing is at Mudeford Quay. The enterprising chap at the fish stall there sells crab lines for £2......yes £2.....(they sell them in Boscombe for 50p). Then he charges another £1 for bait.
Mudeford crabs like a tesco cheap sausage in a net bag attached to a length of string.....take my word for it..!!!
Went to Oakdene 3 or 4 years ago.... never again! Agree with Tracy, very busy, had to queue for the pool for 2 hours, the facilities just couldn't cope with the number of people in the summer months. Our pitch was under 6 inches of water for the whole of the holiday. It just wasn't a relaxing holiday, even the children didn't like it.
There are far nicer sites in the area. I wouldn't go back to Oakdene even if it was free!
just spent a week at oakdene the meadowss turned into a swamp because of heavy rain this has already happend once this year last month in fact so why did they put us there and all the other poor souls who had to go home early
im just about to write a serious letter to shorefield how dredfull
