Have a look at the CC site at New England Bay in Dumfries and Galloway they have a tent area, the beach is about 30yds across the sandhills from the tent area and our dogs loved the place.

Heathland beach is a great site for kids and has its own beach a 5 minute walk away, which dogs are allowed on.

Here is a link to all the dog friendly beaches in Cornwall in and out of season. I also have a copy of the 2007 version of this but cant recall where I got it from. Sorry I dont know how to add a file attachement to a post.
