It's one of those things - depends on what your needs are.    A backpacker is going to need far less on site, especially as he will probably be elsewhere the following night, than a family with young kids who are there for the week.

I need showers, ok I could do without for a couple of nights, and indeed have, when on site I was staying at, the one and only rather grim shower was out of commision for two out of the three nights I was there.   Fortunately we'd all got a shower Friday morning, only to find an Out of Order notice pinned up later that day.    Just boiled a kettle, as there wasn't even hot water in the loos.

For me, thing like a play area, means that there will probably be other kids on site, as well as being somewhere for mine to go off and play.   Gives me a break, if they are away from the tent, and playing with other kids, especially now that they are older and can be trusted to go by themselves (depending on the location of playarea to where we are pitched).   Also Alice is a very sociable little thing, and is happiest when playing with other kids.    In last week's bad weather our tent became the local creche, as all the kids seemed to congregate there.    I think it had something to do with the fact that I didn't mind everybody being inside provided that they were playing together nicely.

Cooking for three/four means that I will have more dishes than the solo person, so again things like a washing up area are a plus.
Laundry on site, means I can do a wash midweek - means I can cut down on what I take.   Also means that dirty wet clothes don't go smelly.

Even if I end up paying around the £25 mark, it is still a damn site cheaper than renting a cottage, and most definately far far cheaper than even the cheapest B & B.

Around £20 , for four of us & 2 cars , no ehu . As long as it has clean loo's & shower's & lots of space , we're fine

weve just paid £21 each night for 4 of us. 2 adults, an 8 year old and just 15 year old. and EHU. it cost me an extra £1 for my eldest. she'd only just had her birthday as well.i forgot when asked ages, i said 8 & 14. oh sorry 15, it was her birthday yesterday. thought i would have been let off but no. never mind at least i was honest.

but it was worth £21. the site was perfect and no mud!!! or much rain.

we have paid more on other sites and got less.
