I think ours was £1600 this year plus £110 winter storage on top. The site has nothing other than a loo block, washing up area, children's play area and dog walk. The loo block is now in need of a revamp IMHO as nothing has been done during the 3 seasons we have been there and they were out of date back then! Wish we lived near you, we would have one of your seasonals for £1100 no probs!

i have a seasonal pitch and i wouldnt say your price is over the top and i like the fact that you can pay via three installments i think this is very good that sites allow installments not everyone can afford a grand or more straight out in one lump sum. As for losing that camping feeling i disagree, i chose seasonal as it meant we could go every weekend , and i do every weekend were there by once or twice when things have unavoidably turned up , i shop locally, i buy local gear, my daughter had her ears peirced in the local town, so i dont think it makes any difference to whether their tourers or not, but at least its a guranteed income for the campsite owner. i have used my van more than i ever did while touring, and had more experiences as well, the fire pit comes out rain or shine, we eat outside on the cadac, we go for the same trips out and about and see the same amount of things on the site as if we had been touring there.
Go for it jakers and good luck

From a campsite owners point of view seasonal pitches must be an attractive option - especially after a couple of lousy summers like we've just had. And from many caravanners' point of view (if you're able to get away most weekends, not having to completely set up each time, getting to the site quicker if not towing - not to mention cheaper and/or sharing the caravan with friends or relatives) they're ideal too.
But from the point of view of a caravanner/trailer tenter who has very limited chances to get away from home and work they really don't make for a great atmosphere on a site especially during the week. I really have not enjoyed being pitched in amongst a sea of empty vans, grass growing around the wheels, curtains pulled all week and then feeling like an outsider at the weekend when the seasonals all turn up and chat to each other like the friends they've become - ignoring little old us stuck in the middle of them all. (I know that not all seasonal pitch holders behave like this - but believe me there are quite a few that do.)
On the upside of course the site's facilities are less busy when the vans on the seasonal pitches aren't occupied!
I guess what I'm trying to say is that it's better for us non-seasonals if the season pitches are all together and the tourers likewise, not shoved in between.
We were on a site a couple of weeks ago with similar facilities, but without the play area as it's adults only, they charge £1000 + £2.50 electric each night you're there, April to October. Sorry if this seems harsh, but for that sort of money (and more) I would expect a full 12 months not just 7!

Thanks all you have confirmed what I thought that we are priced pretty reasonably.....
I know that seasonal isn't ideal but we have to make change for our park to survive, and seasonal does mean certain money, unfortunately we don't have the luxury of the space to offer a couple of fields of seasonals the rest as tourers/tent all seperated
thank you all for your input

Although I agree that seasonals give a site certain money regardless of the weather it would be a bad move if too many sites went over to mostly seasonals as those who wanted to tour, which is after all what a touring caravan is meant for, would not be able to find a site to take them. Your Touring Park would no longer be a touring park but more like an exclusive members only holiday camp.
We like to experience lots of different places and don't want to visit the same old place every time - that gets very boring however nice the place is.
We have just taken a seasonal pitch in Somerset at a large site that is all singing all dancing and the pitch is £2000 from Feb to November - you can keep your awning up all season - and to be honest i would be cheesed off keep having to take it down - lots of seasonal pitchers use the awning as living space and kit it out for the whole season.
If your pitchers used good storm strapping would that help Jakers?

Having now had 6 awnings take off even when storm straps etc are used there is no way that we can let people leave their full awnings up other than in July and August ( less windy months!). The damage a flying awning causes is horrendous also have received a serious injury trying to 'rescue' one when they go now I have to say I let them go and hope that they don't do too much damage.
They can be left up july and august and porch awnings can be left up for the other times may, june, sept but other than that they have to be attended when they go up eg: no leaving for weeks on end.
