Not for me Im afraid...Seems a bit of a fad to me...An up market Easycamp holiday..the ones where you turn up to a site abroad...and the tent..and everything you need is set up..Btw..not knocking the Easycamp holidays..but this "Glamping" thingy just looks too false to me...

Now there have been times that having my tent all ready set up on arrival could have been quite appealing! I'm not really one of these folk that particularly like setting up tents, and certainly not after a long drive. And just think of not having to worry about drying the tent off or getting all your gear back into the car!!

Thanks to Crystal Jo for bringing my new creation to your attention. I would like to reply to a few of the queries and missconceptions! The glamppod can not be compared to any other form of accommodation, be it a hotel, cottage or tent, it is a completely unique experience. I am trying to create an enviroment where families can enjoy an outdoor holiday whatever the British summer throws at them. Therefore they are not too posh to admit to camping, but sensible enough to admit they can't beat the weather! It is not a large shed but a purpose built frame tent with 3 rooms and definately NO POWER. As for putting it on your allotment, you would have to cover yours and your neighbours to allow for the large frame tent, shower area, large border full of lush planting and of course the lawn area big enough for recreation use, not to mention the access to 17 acres of fields, lake and pool. I admit surprisingly, there is no condensation problem. as for putting your own tent/van inside, I have already thought of that and will hopefully be the next model. for £400 a week i would expect breakfast in bed and someone to turn me in the night too!
Good luck with it though, i would imagine it would be very popular!

It you go with a Tipi or Yurt many campsites are charging smilar prices....... I know I may have a few eggs thrown at me but I actually like it. I have they problem of OH HATING camping and myself LOVING it so something like this is middle ground for use. I certainly dont have much money but maybe the tide will change and yes I would give it a try. 2009 I am in Breacon Beacons (will see you Jan P!) but 2010 I would seriously consider it. Looks FANSTASTIC to me! I am certainly not a snob and dont mind getting dirty but if OH hates camping and all the setting up it is a way for me to enjoy the outdoor life without ending up in divorce court putting a tent up in the rain after a long drive with the kids.

Nice to see someone trying something new, cant knock it in the current economic climate.
Could develop into a good niche business, certainly self-catering is a boom area at the moment - and if it doesnt you can grow mushrooms or cannabis or something!
