I am giving another vote for Howgill Lodge spent last week there and it was absolute heaven. Even though it was half term week it was quiet ( sound not capacity- it was actually full) the children that were there were littlies and were happy with a fishing net in the river. There is no play area but I think that is why it works.( I am not anti children by any means) It is a just a great back to nature tyoe site that doesn;t need any frills.
