I seemed to have to join one or the other clubs just for my Insurers benefit, which I would like to point out was much better than the CC quote like for like.

new one on me that.

cost us £20 more to insure with the CC than with "another" insurer but they stated i had to buy a wheel clamp as well as a hitch lock (we have one of them) which adds £50 ish to the quote and the cover wasnt quite as comprehensive as the CC`s.

no brainer for us

 I only had to have a wheel clamp, but I would have bought that anyway, I didn't take that as being an extra on my insurance because I thought it was just common sense to have some sort of deterrent. I have only been trying to find out if the CC club was worth joining, and I think for the CL sites it was. When money is tight you don't want to have to pay more just for a brand name. I have nothing against the CC club because I am a member, but wished I had queried it with my insurers. I had to put my membership number on their insurance form.

PS I have used one of the CL sites as per my post.
