Yes indeed that is the "posh" site from the series.

As soon as I looked on Google Earth I could see that Viewfield Manor Holiday Village was the site of one of the protagonists; Collin Holliday's "Happy Hollidays" and not "u-tow-pia".

Gareloch and surrounding area look beautiful. Thank you very much Lobey for all the info.

I’ll try to arrange a camping trip up there next season. I love Glasgow (had to work there a bit in the past), and the Firth of Clyde area looks like an interesting place to visit, and close enough to take the OH to see the city.

Still Game has been the best out of all these programmes.  You should look out for Dear Green Place, no match for Still Game but a lot funnier than Happy Holidays 17

HERES a taste of Still Game, you should recognise the barman from Happy Holidays. Enjoy !

Just checked back in here, & YES `Still Game' is  17 17 17 One of my most fav ever comedies, along with Rab C.Nesbit. I think the non-Scots may need sub-titles for Rab though ?!

 Good recommendation T's mum !

Rab was (still is) brilliant. I rember him first appearing in Naked Video in the 80's (showing my age now). I've never had any trouble understanding him, but have struggled with some Glaswegian.

Me too ! 17And broad accents from Banff/Buchan areas & parts of Aberdeenshire also. My own vote for most difficult to understand Scots accent goes to the Orcadians though - I need a translator !

(PS Apologies to any Orcadians as I realise most of you do not consider Orkney to be part of Scotland)

I do believe that when I Googled Earthed yon site in Ayrshire, I could even see the field where they had the Donkey!!!!17

I do wonder though where the Beach Scenes were shot?

It must have been somewhere on the Ayrshire coast, with all these sand dunes.
