Sorry but I don't understand the British attitude to "private bits". There is only 2 sorts as far as I know and we all know what they look like so what's the secret that they have to be kept hidden?
Each to their own but respect to others that might have different views.

Wow! I’m the owner of Chiverton Park and couldn’t understand why our website visitor stats had suddenly gone haywire. Hundreds of visits from ukcampsite, then I managed to track down this forum. It’s amazing with us all being bombarded everyday by tv, internet and newspaper images of nudity (and by association to the British mind; sex) that an image of the side view of a naked man (me) in a sauna makes such an impact. We have had the gym, sauna and steam room facility since 2005, it’s totally free, the only criteria being you have to be over 18 ( sauna’s aren’t really suitable for children as their bodies can’t regulate heat very well, and as the gym is unsupervised, insurance wouldn’t cover their presence). When we started promoting it we were being asked what dress codes were acceptable. We decided that to experience a true sauna or steam room which many said they wanted, you need to let the heat or steam get to your body. If you’re swathed in towels or wearing swimsuits this doesn’t happen. Not everyone is comfortable with nudity, so although you are welcome to go nude (about 30% do) there is no obligation, it’s up to you. In the five years it’s been open we have had no problems/complaints about the no clothing option. Strangely twenty or more years ago this wouldn’t have even been remarked upon, but today’s cult of body consciousness seems to narrow peoples options of experiencing so many things.
In essence if you want a great holiday in Cornwall, something to impress your friends about, that won’t break the bank (even the site wide wi-fi is free) then come to Chiverton Park.
By the way what’s the previous writer (annmaria) got against me? “
just looked at chiverton park sauna eurghhhhh “ I’ll start getting a body conscious complex!
Agrajag, I am not in the least bothered by you website picutres - to my mind the human body is perfectly natural. Sadly certain mags etc have sexulised nudity. OK I know that naturist camping is not for me - wish it was, but that is the way I was brought up - naked body somehow dirty. Also a genetic disorder has caused growths all over my body, which makes me self conscious.
As I said in my previous post, nobody is forcing anyone to go to your site - or even look at the link. After all ot does say on the UKCS link what type of site it is.

Crikey, beginning to wish I hadn't expressed my opinion now. I did state, "I don't know about you lot" so I was expecting a mix of reactions. I just don't think that the nudity needs to be on the website. I would not feel comfortable with letting a child browse the website to see where they are going on holiday, and I personnally would prefer not to see it either, especially when just browsing to find a holiday. It did put me off of considering a booking, and Surely I can't be the only one on the planet to be put off by your public nudity?
If I was comfortable with my nudity, or seeing others naked, I would readily use your facilities, but, im not. I understand that kids can't use the sauna, so wouldn't see these people, but is it really necessary to put your body (albeit a sideways view) on the website?
Im sorry if some of you think im victorian.
Nothing against your body agrajag, Id just prefer not to see quite so much of it!

------------- I,d live life in the fast lane but, i,m married to a speed bump.
Camping nutcase, I think you are confusing Chiverton Park with the link to the other site that someone posted. The other one is a naturist park, and yes the link clearly states the fact.
I wasnt expecting to see nudity on the site for Chiverton park.

I do not have a problem with the picture on the website at all but those of you that do should be grateful that the picture is shown. If it offends so much and you booked the site, possibly thinking oh I fancy the sauna, you would have been surprised!
At least you know before you go.
How about a few more naturist facilities Agrajag? There are a lot of us out here.

I have been camping now for over 20 years starting with tent, folding camper, caravan and now have a motorhome and i must say i have seen a lot worse than a guys bare leg in these years.
I assume some of you havent been camping abroad then we where at a site 2 years ago when me and the wee boy we where fostering at the time walked into the mixed block to find to young ladies with only a towel around their waste blow drying their hair. He did mention womens boobies to me but it took him 15 mins to brush his teeth. The first thing he told the social worker when we got home was i saw naked people thought id get struck off.
maybe a bit personal question but if your a family of 3 or 4 and stuck in a tent or caravan/motorhome do you send your kids outside so you can get changed.
We really are just all the same just some bigger some smaller some fatter and some thiner but still the same.
Not bothered about the sauna, but thanks for the link as i have added the site to my virtual brochure as they will take 3 dogs in some of their statics and the site looks lovely
Hi, It’s the owner of Chiverton Park again.. Just to let those of you who have taken an interest that it is my body on display ( I didn’t use a body double!), no children or animals were traumatized during the photo session and that no air brushing was used to enhance my leg (thanks for nice comment Gerry)
