Dunstanhill Camping and Caravanning Club Site is just a little bit down the coast from Beadnell Bay. We have stayed here twice and really liked it. It is on the coast but not right on the beach. You walk through the boundary fence and along a path for about 15minutes and you come to the most beautiful sandy beach with Dunstanburgh Castle overlooking it. The site is lovely. Well run, spotlessly clean. Allows tents and caravans. Not big and commercialised. There is a village near by which you could probably walk to but it would be along the road although not a busy one. Have a look on Camping and Caravanning Club website and you can read all about it.

Just read Proctor Stead prices & if you have a tent over 5m x 4m they wont accept it so that rules the Monty 6 out, ( probably the biggest selling tent in the country)also says EHU "from" £2 a night. Dont think I will bother.
We used a C&CC temp Holiday site just up the road from here last year, if not for that this would be my choice. If you are looking for sheltered, Beadnell bay is quite exposed
