It seems that the present forecast for the weekend may be favourable but there is more rain tonight & I can confirm the river is very high there & has gone over on to land but the park is not flooded.

Central England Camping, Caravan and Boat Show 2012
The biggest caravan, camping and boat show in Central England. This brand new show for 2012 is held in May at Billing Aquadrome, Northampton. Find our more and enter our competition win weekend tickets!
My OH & I have just come back from a day visit to the Camping, Caravan & Boat Show at Billing Aquadrome, Northamptonshire. We paid £30 entry for the two of us. I was shocked one stall with camping & caravan equipment, 2 caravans, 1 stall with fold up boats. It was small, mainly motorhomes. Several of the stall holders were talking to us & the handful of others at the show and were really fed up, one even apologised to us. Another told us they had paid £600 for the pitch and so far today had taken £9:99. I was so cross I went to see the organisers; Active promotions & asked why it had been promoted as a Camping, Caravan and Boat show when it wasn't. Her reply was that a lot of stall holders had pulled out because of the problems this last week over the flooding. I said fair enough but why not reduce the price then from £15 per person to perhaps that for two people.I paid less for the NEC and there was 10 times the space. She said well it's the first day & I pointed out that of the 3 days of the show today had the best forecast and were then any more stalls etc likely to be there tomorrow & she said no. No offer of a refund nothing. If you were thinking of going, don't unless of course you want to buy a motor home!
The donut stall was good though!
At least being local we didn't spend a lot on fuel.
£30 for that is an insult and in my book a big rip off!
Nick600 I hope you had a good camp though!

We visited this morning. We were going to camp until my nasty cough came back yesterday (just come out of hospital with pneumonia a few months back) so I couldnt risk camping in near freezing temperatures.
We decided to take the girls and the dog and still have a look round the show. When we got to reception we found out there were no boats for the boat show. It wasn't the end of the world though, as we enjoyed looking at the motorhomes and visiting the stalls which were there, The gils loved the huge inflatable slides and the bouncy castle. All the staff and stall holders we spoke to were really friendly and helpful, Although trade was quiet you must consider that a lot of people were just arriving around then and pitching up so (I hope) It will busy up for them!
Events like these, the weather makes all the difference and for the las few weeks it has been absolutely poor.
I think what I saw of the site/facilities are great especially for youngsters. I loved the miniature railway and the swimming pool looks a sure hit. The main plus in my opinion for this site is the staff. Really nice people.
We will be back to camp.
------------- I used to be a tractor fan.
But now I'm an extractor fan.
Nick600 so glad you enjoyed it. It's great when someone compliments your home county. We arrived about 1:00 and there wasn't a lot of people at the show by then but it did rain for a bit so that's why.
The pool complex is fantastic and of course they have the fair too.
Did you kids get a ride on the ponies?
I hope there will be a large show around our area at a better weather time as I'd love to see one.
