I would normally agree with the fact that it's the overall charge that matters, and we all have a choice whether or not to book a site, campsite owners have every right to set their charges as they see fit....but £5 per day, for a trailer , come on, there are times where you just have to shake your head and double check what you've read.

Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
At the end of the day, site owners are in business. We all camp at different sites, and we all see different costs for this and that, and we all want different things from a site. But its down to us where we go at the end of the day, and what are total spend is.
Its the same when we all go shopping, if you dont like the costs we go elsewhere. Well that can be done with camp sites.
The site owners have a hard job to keep everyone happy.

2013 Nothing as yet , trying to get new boyfriend to go camping soon. Selling Maritisa 700 , so we can put it towards a VW Camper.
french campsites are generally financially helped by their local authorities unlike the UK where we are more like stealth tax collectors for the government
not the stake but the holes that have been dug by some dogs and our pet ducks that have been mauled incurring vet fees ps don`t want to get into an argument just trying to tell it from the other side
£5 for a trailer. That's an additional £35 for the week, If you are really unlucky, £1 for a windbreak another £7. That's another £42 on top. £2 for the dog, shall we say. £14. £58 all ready, for the week.

We must be doing something wrong then, as you can come to me for the week for £70, no extra for trailers, dogs or windbreaks!!! I've even had 2 ambulances stop the night, bottom line I'm sorry is everyone is different and they have to find a site that prices the best way for them.
------------- Visit Llandrindod Wells! Great scenery, walks, cycling, red kites. Ideal for exploring Mid Wales.
When I have been browsing the websites, there has been a fee for dogs for £2, honest!
I haven't a trailer, or really use a windbreak, but do have a dog. ha Ooops. The other thread has got me paranoid now of making mistakes.

I'll be paying 2.60 GBP for having my trailer on the pitch at peak times next weekend at Birchwood, and 2.00/1.50 GBP for mid/low seasons.

Yes I know Mike. You did'nt need to calculate it and point it out to me, hence why I responded to your post. Mistakes are still can be made, even though one tries to be careful. So don't rub it in. haha. please!!!!

I've been clicking on every website link for the last 48 hours in my quest to find my perfect site and I found one that charges for the size of your dog. I can't tell you which site it was as I've clicked on so many but it said for large/extra large dogs fee at discretion of owner.
So we've moved on from size of tent to size of dogs now. What next? People?
wow, £5 a night pays for our fees on a rally with car, van, awning and annexe and anything else we want on the pitch, so glad we don't really do normal sites anymore, too many adds on make for a lot more money. This way we can afford to go away nearly every weekend

Sorry mon ami, the way you worded the post above I thought you were accounting for the other £2. My mistake.

My advice is worth no more than the price paid for it
