I've had a delivery of gas today and the driver told me Highburn House is cordoned off by police owing to a group of our travelling friends descending on the place late last night and taking over. I've heard they have stolen all the gas and connected up to the electricity. Holidaymakers already on site are not allowed to take their cars off and if they want to walk into Wooler they must sign out and then in again. This was just before lunch time today so things will hopefully have eased by now although the police were saying it could take a week to get them off.
