Thurstason cc&c on the Wirral, is dog heaven where he can run for miles, either on the beach or the Wirral Way.
Beddgelert camping in the forest cc&c walks also straight from the campsite yet again endless walks,
Beechcroft campsite, straight from the campsite, walk through the field before accessing the trail once on there, you have miles of trail walks.
I'm the same, I look for campsites for off lead walks.

We recently stayed at two campsites which were good for off-lead walks, with no livestock.
The first was Durham Grange CAMC site, which has a small dog walk area, but there is a path close by which goes down to the river with plenty of safe walking through the woods. The path eventually goes to Durham, but you don't need to go that far.
The second was a small private site, Airey Hill Farm at Whitby. Adjacent to a school, you simply walk on a path between the playing fields and then you are on a cinder path (old railway, I think) which runs between Whitby and Scarborough.
We have a whippet, but she doesn't have a high prey drive. However, I think both these walks would be OK for a dog that does.
Finally, we stayed at both in September and the weather was brilliant.

Really appreciate the tips guys and would like to say The Roseland Peninsula in Cornwall was fantastic in September , coastal walks without high cliffs and very few fields with livestock, National Trust Trelissick gardens is very good for dogs.

Hi, we have a springer spaniel so off lead dog walks are always a priority for us too. If you are looking at the Durham area I can't recommend Bonner's Lodge highly enough.
It's a small relaxed site and the owner is happy to let you use the pony field on site for a quick off lead sprint for dogs in the morning and evening when the donkey and horse are in the stables. Then for longer walks it is right on the Waskerley Way which is a great 10mile off lead walk with no access to livestock. You don't need to do the full 10miles and can tailor it to fit around you.
The owner, Michelle, will also let your pooch out for a little walk if you go out for any length of time.
There is a fabulous games room with sofas and even a dog bed provided in there too!
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
