In many years of experience I have never come across a site that objects to cats - to the extent that they do not mention them. I have seen cats (and other pets) on site quite often. It appears to me that the only criteria is that if any pet is allowed outside the unit it MUST be on a lead - I would be one of the first to complain if I saw a pet running free on a site.

Cats - I've seen a ragdoll cat on several CCC sites (the same cat) and each time the unit was placed in a relatively quiet spot. The cat seemed to having a great time.

Maybe the real question should be "are there any sites that DON'T allow cats?" I've never known any site even mention them.

Best Regards,
Colin

We had a cat pee up our awning at Troutbeck CMC a few year ago, never manages to remove the smell threw the awning away, cats like dogs should be tethered. We did also see Ferrits at Sandringham CMC they had a pen but where also lead walked.

Our MH neighbours at Hillhead club site last year had a cat which roamed about. It always went on holiday with them apparently.

I've seen a cat tethered, on a pitch at Chatsworth.

I've seen cats on campsites in France, many times: one couple had erected an elaborate enclosure outside their caravan and sat in it with their two Ragdolls; an elderly couple we saw year-on-year always had their friendly old cat with them and it roamed at will. Another moggy wandered onto our pitch one day and rubbed itself against my chair so I put my hand down to stroke it and it bit me!

On a campsite in the Ardeche, I saw a cat wander up to a caravan awning on a neighbouring pitch and spray. The owner saw it so tried rinsing it off with copious amounts of bottled water!

I daresay many caravan and motorhome owners don't think about the damage a cat's claws can do to canvas or synthetic tents. We once pitched a tent in the garden overnight, to dry. Next morning, it was evident a cat had run up it. I'm a bit wary of roaming cat's on campsites now and feel they should be kept on a lead, like dogs. I think responsible owners will do that, anyway.

People forget that during the night there are probably a lot worse things than cats in an awning or peeing up against an awning as there are foxes, badgers, wild cats, rats and a host of other wild animals that visit during the night and do their own thing. We just don't know about them so don't complain about them.
