I have a VW Crafter, and have been shown how to minimise the noise when I close close the cargo sliding door as quietly as I can late at night, by opening the window on the door to let the pressure escape!

When parked up with all the windows closed and I have to get out and lock the van, I open the passenger door before closing the cargo sliding door, again, to let the pressure escape!

Not all VW van owers are inconsiderate!

I've never met you on site DK, or maybe your quiet and considerate ways were drowned out by the door slammers and I never realised you were there! ..... always thought there had to be a solution.

I had a mate (now deceased) who insisted on slamming car doors, 'got to make sure it's closed properly' being his rationale, no amount of demonstrating that doors could be closed gently and quietly ever convinced him to change his ways! .... some people don't look for or welcome solutions!

Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!

As a VW van owner.....closing the slidey door quietly is almost impossible, you can't push it to the end then click it shut, it needs the weight of the door to close properly. We try to close ours once, before 10.30 pm, then we use the back door to exit/enter, that does close easily with a small click.

We had a car once where the doors didn't close easily, so we used to give it a final click by butting it (with our butts....). Stopped in the end because we worried that we were likely to dent the sides.
