Red Bank Farm, Bolton le Sands - £3.00 a head and they let you stroke the farm animals and watch them milking the cows.  Also great views over Morecambe Bay.

We are going to eweleze on Friday I will be the woman on her own with two children so will try not to pitch too close to anyone else as i like my space to sit and chill with a few beers. We drove down there the other weekend and kids are really exited about going there im not sure about the trach in as it was bad without a lot of heavy stuff in the car.We also like a site near Swanage which is basic called Toms Field kids love it there and its not too expensive.

Try Mandale House in the Peak District. http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/details.asp?revid=4679

Two fields next to a farmhouse - loos, showers, free-range chickens wandering around and very peaceful.

They let you pitch where you like, and charge per head.

Kate.

Kate

Do they have a dishwashing sink at Mandale House? I like the sound of that one, but not sure if there's a place for pot washing - it's so much easier if there is.

Thanks

Liz

Liz,

They have two sinks for washing up - they are cold water only, so we used to take a kettle or pan of hot water with us, and it was then fine.

They also have a good bin area, with separate bins for all kinds of recyclables.

It is a lovely site.  Very peaceful (just a few sheep baaing).  They seem to put groups in the upper field, so that may be slightly noisier, but you can choose to pitch where you like, so that's fine.

Kate.

Thanks Kate - that's very helpful. I'll put that one on the list for next year - sounds just up our street
