The existing reviews tell the whole story. We're waiting to see if these proposed improvements happen with the new owners, but looking at this thread, it would no progress as yet
Just like to point out that the site isn't a place I would go to on my main holiday as previously state we only go for the LRE show...but when there the staff work very hard keeping the toilets and showers clean and removing rubbish. The staff in the shops and Laundrette etc are very friendly....

oooooohhhhhhhh noooooo We are going there May 13th/14th !!!!!!!! What is so bad about the site. Seems to have plenty on offer. First "proper" camping trip - hope it doesn't put us off!!
Did I not read of thefts taking place at Billings - Local brain surgeons cutting through the plastic windows of tents/awnings to get to stuff silently? It really does sound just the place to stay away from.

That happened to us last year insurnce didnt cover for shower gels, aftershaves, perfumes ect when you have 4 of you its £100 to replace after shaves and perfumes,The window cost £62 to replace in total that weekend cost us over £400.
It cant be good for Billing at all im a member on here what members is there on here?then Im member of a few car forum and car clubs that all use Billing, just think about how much Billing will lose if they dont pull there socks up fast.
Im not saying all this to make Billing to look bad , im hoping that they will sort it ASAP.
Ps
We were one of ten others that I heard of that weekend and trade stands that had lost £££. so If everyone of one of us tells 10 poeple, then they each tell 10 others.
Hello, just to say we spent a very enjoyable weekend at Billing. Yes the facilities are not great but there's plenty to with the fun fair, crazy golf, live entertainment, etc. Set up the caravan on the river bank and fed swans from our window, how bad is that! Its not everybodies cup of tea as it can be very noisy and crowded, but be careful not to put everybody off the place!
------------- Come on if we leave now we can make it before it's dark. How many times have we heard that?

Dont get me wrong we love the place, but to be broken into leaves a sour taste in your mouth.
Most campers will agree that you can trust other campers and don't need to worry about leaving your tent and belongings - within reason, obviously wouldn't leave a digital camera lying around on view, but at Billing Aquadrome I would not leave belongings in a tent, or caravan for that matter.
It's not the people on the site, it's people who live in the surrounding area.

agree about not leaving any valuable around especially at Billing (although didnt realise it was locals). Normally take our laptop to watch TV but left it behind for security.

We went there once, for sentimental reasons, as we both used to camp there as kids (long time ago now lol) That's the trouble with trying to re-live the past, things just ain't the same. We were horrified, don't get me wrong, staff are great, and the other campers, it was the hooligans that hang around the fairground & takeaway area, not nice at all. Couldn't let our daughter out on her own. Not going back
As a 25 year old and a sister who was 16 at the time we were refused to book a pitch as being two females.
So this year despite the bad reviews we went and took my dad as he fancied the fishing there. All I can say is big mistake! just got back from 3 nights there of rowdy groups of youngsters the amusements and fun fair isnt safe for kids as full of teens with bottles of cheap wine throwing the bottles around. What is worse is that security walk straight pass them and say nothing.
The toilets were filithy and at one point had burgers and hot dogs up the walls! There were cars racing up and down all hours of the evening and early morning suppose to be 5mph but it was more like 40mph. and for you fisher men fishing isn't very good either.
As a young camper i would never behave like this think il stick to the quieter sites from now on.
I took the missus up there last weekend to see what improvements they've made. All i saw was that they've installed a crazy golf adventure land and a new play park for the kids. The place still looks like a Chavs Haven.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
