As I said before Willowbank is a good one and the Southport one is good too. Do not go to leisurte lakes or the riverside.

Hi all,

Just wanted to let you know that we arrived in Southport and went to the tourist information kiosk and they gave us a list of campsites and every single one was booked up, we couldnt get an answer from Riverside so we went down there and they were booked up too, but the really nice man in reception gave us a leaflet about another site a little further out and we went there and had a brilliant night (apart from a few wasps), so thanks to everyone for their help!!!

From all accounts avoid Leisure Lakes like the plague - unless it has undergone a great deal of improvement it's not nice.
Riverside has mixed reviews.  I've been there twice - first time was great, no problems.     The second time was at a meet - tents were treated like dirt from the moment we went to reception to check in.

Abbey Farm is lovely.    

Can't vouch for Willowbank - but it is meant to be very nice.

we were supposed to be going to leisure lakes for our weeks holiday - this thursday it starts, thought it would be perfect for all of us - the hubbys fishing and the kids, plenty to do - till we went and had a look the other day !!! OMG, No thank you, only a couple of touring places left with hookup, all the rest of the vans are permanently sited - and both the lakes are closed!!! IMHO IT needs to be upgraded -
