I would not pay this much. If you have not joined the caravan and camping club would suggest you do so and then you can stay very cheaply on certificated sites if you don't care about lack of playgrounds and suchlike.
That sounds steep. Newberry, most sites do not charge for children under 3 and sometimes under 4. If you joined the C&C Club, children 6 & under are free. Geoff, this is something you might like to consider as you only pay per person, not the 2 adult price in commercial sites. Newberry, that site was dear but I would agree with a previous remark about supply and demand - if it was on the coast in Cornwall, they can and do charge high amounts as there are clearly always people who will pay it. You've mentioned your children in another post - the C&C sites usually have a small play area, great for keeping them amused, after all it is their hols too!

I think it was too expensive too, I wouldn't have expected to pay more than £10. Its supply and demand though, if there are other campsites nearby, its good for campers, but if they are few and far between the owners ask silly prices.
The last time I stayed on a site like that I paid £5 a night for 5 of us.

http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/details.asp?revid=4679 take a look here for a decent site - nothing spectacular but in a lovely park of the uk and nothing more than toilets, showers and loads of open space. We went a few weeks back and for the whole weekend it cost £12 fair enough without ehu but we did take our camper with a tent and 3 dogs (they dont charge for dogs) the site owner is lovely and what a bargain!!!!!! u have to try the breakfast cobs too (yummy!!!!!!!)!!!!!!
def on the expensive side it helps if you look up sites on here and plan your trip so that you can make dif choices and select camping sites within an area where you'd like to go as opposed to just selecting one at random
some peeps always get ripped off by these money chasers best thing is like you have done is to name them and shame them then they get less customers and hopefully they'll pack it in and try farming for real instead
there will always be those that do their best to screw as much as possible trying to make the quick buck you def need to do your homework though b4 you set out that way you reduce the surprises
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
