Thanks a lot for all your replies. We are definitely going forward to the Wales Tourist Board with our complaints about Sunnyvale and I have posted a review as you requested. Reading your replies, it looks like we all got the same indifferent treatment from the owners. We just got a snotty letter asking us why we did'nt just pack up and find a park "more suited to our requirements ". Oh yeah, in the middle of the school holidays with two caravans and 4 kids. I will let you all know how we get on and thanks again for your replies.

Yes, I'd read that thread!!!!
Just wondered how they decide which reviews to put on first as it seems they don't do them in the order they're submitted? My message wasn't meant to be a complaint or criticism in any way. I was just curious.
I have noticed there are not a lot of negative reports. Is this because admin are worried of being sud by campsites.
The problem with star ratings is how they are assessed. More often than not they are based on quantity of facilities rather than quality. So my advice to anyone is to take a star rating with a pinch of salt.

Don't use 'TEXT speak' - this isn't a mobile! Use capital letters to start sentences and proper punctuation please. This saves us hours correcting reviews. Write a full review - cover the site's facilities in full, the toilet block / playground - did it have hookups etc etc Tell us about the surrounding area ( eg shops / beaches / bars / attractions etc etc) and provide info to help other visitors Be objective - we won't publish personal gripes Give constructive criticism where necessary. Add details not already covered in the existing reviews or website Be patient, we may have a big backlog at busy times
Seen as reviewer are doing UKCS a great service by taking the time to leave reviews ( they do it out of good will towards the website and its members ) I feel that the above 'rules' ( whatever you want to call them ) Could be put across a little more politely and graciously, dont you think ?

OOOOOOH! We went to Sunnyvale in June this year. My review hasn't been published on here yet, but it was not favourable at all!
We stayed in a dirty, filthy hole they called a static caravan. Never again will we do that! My brother and his family were in the next door but one caravan and it was also disgustingly filthy so it wasn't just ours. Most guests were complaining about the state of the caravans.
We complained to the head office which is at Fishguard. The manager was surprisingly never there when we phoned! Anyway after 3 letters we eventually had 50% refunded, but he would still not even agree that there was a problem. He couldn't understand why we were complaining!
Maybe the fact that I had to completely clean the van from top to toe before we could even unpack and then wash all the pots and pans as they were stuck to the cupboards and full of grease! YUCK! I won't even go into what we found in the bathroom! Kim and Aggie would have had a field day!
All I can say is complain, complain, complain. My sister-in-law has also contact the tourist board who mentioned they would visit, but not heard anything since so I don't know if they have or not. I really hope they lose all their stars as I don't feel they deserve any at all!
Good luck whatever you decide to do but don't give up!
get on to webby and ask them to hurry up with your review/s, I did and they were on next day, they are needed!
There are hundreds of reviews sent in daily and only two people to check them. Your reviews will be put up in due course.

ER..........whats wrong with the way the rules are set out. Follow them and your review will be published sooner rather than later.

Scarlets fan ,I only mean that the wording could be a little more polite ,and show some appreciation of the great work the reviewers are doing for the site! after all wihout their input ,where would the site be ?
Can understand it must be a nightmare editing all the review ,but its worth it ! and sometimes barking rules at someone could maybe put them off making a review ? which would be a real shame ,just a please and a thankyou wouldnt do any harm ,thats all ,constructive critisim ( I soo bet i have spelled that wrong )
The reviews are done in order of receipt, however if we are checking a review submitted three weeks ago for a site, and there are also more recent ones for that site, they all get checked together.
There are plenty of negative reviews published, there are also plenty of good ones that don't get published if they have nothing extra to offer.
