I agree that the cc club should cancel the membership of people who dont turn up four times without cancelling. Its very selfish of people to book and then not turn up as they are depriving other people of a pitch. I know there are exceptions when people may not be able to cancel but generally not four times. I also would welcome the cc introducing paying a deposit as it would discourage people from booking up all the sites just in case they decide to go. Some of the more popular sites are impossible to get on. Before I go does anyone know how far in advance you can book a cc site as there are some sites that no matter how far in advance I try to book they are full.

I could not disagree more, the popular sites will fill up rapidly no matter what with over 250000 member and only 25000 pitches the problem will exist whether they charge a deposit or not. As someone who has to cope with chronic illnesses the chance to be able to cancel/change bookings without having to feel that it is costly to do so is one of the big pluses of being a memebr of the club.

Booking for pitches post March 2008 will open for members early in december 2007, at least that is the norm.

 

I have found that some CC Sites have storage facilities and on a Friday morning you see them towing them out of storage and putting them on pitches,so even though you try for a weekend its already booked,Having said that we`ve never failed to get in when we`ve booked for 7 or 10 days maybe it depends on the wardens.

                  It does seen unfair that in December someone can book every weekend especially main holiday weeks when people would like to spend their 2 week break in one place and find theiy are unable to,I agree a deposit if only £10 a booking should be taken
