Best laid plans and all that...we had rerouted to a pub stop for our friend's birthday due to the continued cold and wet weather. Their van blew an injector (again ) so we cancelled and having gone to the pub for dinner anyway (it's fairly local) realised that the car park was far too small and it would have been a nightmare !
Now booked for a night at Moreton in Marsh CAMC (again local but cheaper than a taxi round here, believe it or not !)
We're hoping to spend some time with family in Suffolk in May, just got to agree on the site
Meanwhile, France planning continues at a pace, just got to choose some locations and sites for the return leg after a week at our beloved Port de Limeuil. Will ask questions about that on the relevant forum

Had to cancel the first trip out this year over the coming weekend due to work commitments for Thursday and Friday.

It's been so busy workwise I have not had much time to clean and set up the van.

We had our first trip of the year last weekend and we were hoping to also get away this weekend but the weather looks awful so I don’t think we will go.

Due to work and family commitments, it looks like we won’t get away again until Easter.

I’ve been sitting in work this week, looking out the window, wondering why the weather always seems to be good during the week and then deteriorates at the weekend when I get some time off!

Just back from our 5th trip away, the hottest so far: the dog sheltered under the MH as it was 30 deg in the shade. The West Highland midge (that loves me dearly) was absent, even though we were near water & trees where I'd expect them at dusk - I think it's been too dry for them. Handy website www.smidgeup.com has a map, shows all Scotland is at level 1 (out of 5).
Might go away next week for the annual Spring Fling in Dumfries & Galloway ("Scotland's premier art & craft open studios event" with 80 studios), but it depends on whether the forecast wet weather arrives or not.

I went to Penrhos CAMC club site in North Wales at the beginning of the month before attending a large charity related convention in Llandudno.

I thought I might as well make the most of driving all the way there.

The site was really nice, the best facilities for dogs with its own secured dog walk/exercise area which was large and free to use!

The facilities block was new 5 years ago.

I had a nice stay despite the rather cool and windy yet dry weather.

Site report has been submitted.

The next one is not until June 2025, can't wait!

Had been hoping for a backpacking trip April/May. Unfortunately I was being too optimistic health wise.

I’ve been stuck in work for the last few weeks, looking out the window at the beautiful weather and wishing we were away in the caravan. I am finally getting some leave starting next weekend just when the weather looks to be turning rainy! Typical.
