Hi anne74,
We live in Dundee(about a half hour drive from St. Andrews) and have passed this site hundreds of times. Are you sure the Kinkell Braes site accepts touring caravans, I have a sneaky suspicion they only have residential caravans but, I could be wrong as you don't see any touring pitches from the road which goes past it.
As mentioned above there are 2 other sites around St.Andrews and the site at Craigtoun Meadows is beautiful but it's no use if you have dogs as it doesn't accept them. There is also another beautiful site which is situated on the coastline at Crail(about 8 miles from St.Andrews), it's a small site which has a heated outdoor swimming pool and the views are spectacular.
