We have stayed a couple of times at Shearbarn. It is in Hastings, on a hill overlooking the town. It can be fairly windy!
It has a caravan field and a tent field, pitch where you like in the tent field. Large site, can get very busy at holiday times and the showers are only just able to club. There is a clubhouse / bar on site (across the lane from the end of the caravan/tent fields) but we have never used them ourselves. There is also a shop on site. Handy for Hastings itself. The road up to the site is pretty steep.
Normanhurst Court at Battle (CC site) or Kloofs are both close to Hastings, and I can recommend either.
Normanhurst doesn't take tents (although there was one pitched with a van whilst we were there), but plenty for kids to do (if you have any), great local walks, and good amenities close by.
Kloofs takes vans and tents, has excellent loos etc, but small shop on site. Is close to a number of shops locally, and has plenty of room. Nice quiet site, ideal just to chill!

What if the Hokey Cokey really is what it's all about....?

Cobbs hill farm in Bexhill on sea near Beachy Head,Battle 5 miles looks a good site.We are going there for a weekend soon.Or Brakes coppice Park in Battle, another good one.
Thanx for the comments have had a look on the internet at some of the sites mentioned and all look good! We have 2 teenage boys so hopefully would be able to keep them occupied!!
The only commercial site we have used in the last 10 years is Cobbs Hill Farm in Bexhill. We generally use club sites and CL's and CS's but came across this site two years ago one bank holiday when we were really desperate because we had turned up at a CS and it was appalling (which is very unusual) we just got out the sites book and rang loads and loads before Cobbs Hill Farm just managed to fit us in.
We are going back there for the early May bank holiday weekend as we found it to be a lovely site.

Shearbarn is no longer taking tents I believe so we haven't been there - but had the brochure last year and it looked nice - but expensive.
We like Norwood Farm, Newchurch, New Romney, Kent and have been there twice and booked again for this summer. The facilities are spotless and the owners kindly provide free use of fridges/freezers. A small, flat site surrounded by sheep. Not too far from Rye, Dymchurch, Hythe and New Romney. Hastings is a little bit further away.
We have also stayed at Cobbs Farm near Bexhill which was ok. Has big playground for the kids plus a few horses and animals. Showers a bit old but okay. Lidls up the road was handy for provisions. The site has a dog walking area.
We got booking for Brakes coppice park in Battle on the 5th and 6th of May.They have spaces with no hook up left if anyone interested. It looks a lovely park cant wait.
A day of all things motorhome and campervan. The show is held both in the main indoor arena and across the grounds. Catering, hot drinks and food options are available. Easy access to the site and free parking included. Win one of five pairs of day tickets
